PurFloŽ mattresses are safe and hygienic; they are fully breathable and washable, and contain no foam materials.
The absence of foam materials from PurFloŽ mattresses is a critical health factor because foam provides a breeding ground for bacteria and house dust mites and can soak up and retain fluids. Foam materials are also environmentallly unfriendly and cause
disposal problems.
PurFloŽ have a policy of using wherever possible materials that are environmentally friendly and/or recyclable. PurFloŽ products and packaging live up to this high standard of care.
PurFloŽ mattresses were only introduced to the market after they had the benefit of extensive expert clinical studies, to demonstrate that they are safe and that they deliver the benefits promised by their design.
With the benefit of expert clinical studies we believe they are the best option for your baby.

FAQs
At what temperature should I keep the nursery?
We recommend that the nursery should be kept between 18 and 21 degrees.
Will the baby be too cold?
No, this is not a problem when the mattress is used in conjunction with a PurFloŽ SleepSacTM. The clinical studies show that the PurFloŽ mattress makes a sleeping bag more thermally efficient.
Does the mattress offer the correct support?
The mattress does not sag; it conforms better to baby's shape than a conventional mattress, giving support exactly where it is needed for a growing baby.
Will the surface be uncomfortable for baby?
No. The SleepSurface TM conforms to, and supports, the contours of the infant's body. Babies sleep better on this surface.
Can I use a sheet for baby?
Sheets are not necessary, but should you wish to use one for a warmer, softer feel, we recommend the PurFloŽ fitted sheet which will maintain full breathability and permeability.
Can I use a bumper/quilt/blanket for baby?
We recommend using only a Sleeping bag to avoid the dangers of soft bedding, such as overheating and the risk of suffocation if pulled over the baby's head. FSID recommends that if your baby is under one year, do not use any soft bedding, such as duvets, quilts or pillows, as they are associated with an increased risk of cot death.
What about bedding for Toddlers?
Once parents are no longer concerned about the risks of SIDS, (SIDS incident fall considerably after 9-12 months of age) our mattresses can be used with all conventional bedding.
Is the mattress strong enough?
We recommend it up to 30 kg which is around the average weight of an eight year old.
Will the mattress fit all cots?
The mattress is available for most UK standard cot beds.
Do movement/breathing monitors work with this mattress?
In - house tests show these to be just as effective with a PurFloŽ mattress.
Is the mattress good value for money?
Normally it is recommended that a new mattress is bought for every child. With the PurFloŽ System, as it is 100% washable, this is not necessary, and so can be used for another child, reducing the lifetime cost of the product.
